The Eureka City Council convened in regular session at the City Building on July 3, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Punke called the meeting to order and led The Pledge of Allegiance and then directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present were Aldermen Chambliss, Waters, Meares, Hangartner, Hinnen and, V. Punke. Also in attendance were Lynn Hinnen, Treasurer; and Marilyn Walter, City Clerk. Aldermen Weidner and Eckert were absent.
Since the agenda was not posted on the City Hall window 48 hours before this meeting, we cannot vote on anything tonight. Discussion only can be held.
Anne is on vacation, but Scott talked to her by phone concerning the payment of the semi-monthly bills. These with due dates before the next Council meeting will be paid “on vacation,” which means that when a bill comes in too late for the agenda and will have late charges, it is paid and then approved at the next council meeting. If there is question, the committee chair is consulted. Council members went through their committee bills. Lynn stated that she would feel more comfortable with this if the approval could be done before the next regular Council meeting.
A special City Council meeting will be held on Thursday, July 6, at 4:25 p.m. The agenda items from tonight’s meeting will be taken care of then.
Discussion was held concerning the decoration plans for the 4th of July parade float. Scott already has the float decorated. Council members are to bring their grandchildren, neighbor children, etc. to ride on the float Be at the garage at 9 a.m. Steve Shaw will be driving the truck as he has a CDL license.
Public Comments: There were none.
There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
