MINUTES OF THE EUREKA CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
July 6, 2006

The Eureka City Council convened in a special session at the City Building on July 6, 2006 at 4:25 p.m. Mayor Punke called the meeting to order and led The Pledge of Allegiance and then directed the City Clerk to call the roll.  Present were Aldermen Chambliss, Meares, Hangartner, Weidner, Hinnen, and V. Punke. Also in attendance were Lynn Hinnen, Treasurer and Marilyn Walter, City Clerk. Aldermen Waters and Eckert were absent. 

Moved by Meares, second by Hinnen, to approve the minutes of the June 19 and July 3, 2006, regular meetings of the City Council.  Passed on roll call vote with Meares, Hinnen, Chambliss, Hangartner, Weidner, and V. Punke all voting Aye. 

The Mayor asked for public comments on any action to be taken on Agenda Items. There were none. 

Moved by Weidner, second by Meares, to approve and pay the bills as the City’s obligation in the amount of $342,080.71.  Passed on roll call vote with Chambliss, Meares, Hangartner, Weidner, Hinnen, and V. Punke all voting Aye. 

Moved by Meares, second by Weidner, to consider acceptance of the Annual Treasurer’s report for Fiscal Year2005-2006 as presented by Mr. Meares. Passed on roll call vote with Meares, Weidner, Chambliss, Hangartner, Hinnen, and V. Punke all voting Aye. 

Moved by Hinnen, second by V. Punke, to consider Mr. Hinnen’s recommendation from the Planning Commission to approve the preliminary plat for the West Side Business Park with the development of the Cornerstone Restaurant, the street, and the entrance.  Passed on roll call vote with Hinnen, V. Punke, Chambliss, Meares, Hangartner, and Weidner all voting Aye. 

Committee Reports:
Chairman Weidner of the Enterprise Committee: Will be scheduling a meeting next week.
Chairman Mayor Punke of the Liquor Committee: Will have a meeting immediately following this Council meeting.  

New Business: Mayor Punke stated that the annual Fourth of July festivities went well. He thanked the Chief and his officers for getting traffic out of the Park area efficiently. People come to the fireworks from miles around and appreciate being able to get out of traffic easily. 

Public Comments: None 

There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
