Discussion was held on the initiation of a junk day pick-up beginning with Fiscal Year 2009-2010 with pick-up to be done in one Ward annually for four years with the cost to be shared by Maintenance, Park, Administration, and Economic Development Committees. We are just discussing the concept tonight. The type of junk to be picked up and other details need to be determined. Cost will be discussed later, probably $2500 per committee.

Committee Reports:

Chairman Waters of the Budget Committee: Thanks to Anne for the good job of monitoring the budget all year. Also thanks to the committees for moving along on their budgets for next year. The Budget committee will meet February 9 at 6 p.m. to discuss the coming year’s budget.

Chairman V. Punke of the Public Safety Committee: Chief noted that 35 snow route tickets were issued during last week’s snow fall. This is the most snow route tickets issued in a long time. Chief pointed out that his yearly statistics report was included in the packets. He pointed out that traffic ticket income this year is $7500 down. This is due to some persons getting multiple tickets, but the court will dismiss all but one. Also there are more entities sharing in the fine money now. We get $22 from a ticket when we used to get over $30.

Chairman Hinnen of the Park and Recreation Committee: Next meeting January 20 at 7 p.m.

Chairman Kupfer of the Economic Development Committee: No report

Chairman Mayor Punke of the Liquor Committee: A hearing was held on January 7. Hucks was in violation during a state police sting for selling liquor to a minor. Hucks was fined $1,000. This money has been received. Hucks agreed to take additional measures to remedy this situation.
