MINUTES OF THE EUREKA CITY COUNCIL MEETING
January 4, 2010

The Eureka City Council convened in regular session at the City Building on January 4, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Scott Punke called the meeting to order and led The Pledge of Allegiance and then directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present were Aldermen Meares, Kupfer, Zeltwanger, Hinthorne, Prather, Sancken, and Waters. Alderman Hinnen was absent. Also in attendance were Lynn Hinnen, Treasurer; Marilyn Walter, City Clerk; Rusty Klaus, Supervisor of Street and Maintenance; Chief Eric Luckey; and Anne Sandvik, City Administrator.

Moved by Meares, second by Hinthorne, to approve the minutes of the December 21, 2009, regular meeting of the City Council. Passed on roll call vote with Meares, Hinthorne, Kupfer, Zeltwanger, Prather, Sancken, and Waters all voting Aye.

The Mayor asked for public comments on any action to be taken on Agenda items. There were none.

Moved by Waters, second by Kupfer, to approve and pay the bills for expenses of the City’s obligation in the amount of $59,442.75. Passed on roll call vote with Waters, Kupfer, Meares, Zeltwanger, Hinnen, Hinthorne, Prather, and Sancken all voting Aye.

Committee Reports:
Chairman Waters of the Budget Committee: Budget time is here. Most committees have their meetings scheduled.

Chairman Meares of the Administration and Personnel Committee: No Report

Chairman Hinnen of the Enterprise Committee: No Report. Hinnen absent.

Chairman Waters of the Maintenance Committee: Monday, January 11, at 5:30 p.m. will be the next meeting.

Chairman Zeltwanger of the Public Safety Committee: Meeting tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. to go through resumes.

Chairman Hinnen of the Park and Recreation Committee: Meeting January 7, at 6:30 p.m.

Chairman Sancken of the Economic Development Committee: No report

Chairman Mayor Punke of the Liquor Committee: No report

Chairperson Hinthorne of the Communications Committee: Next meeting on January 12 t 6:30 p.m.

New Business: None

There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned at 7:36 p.m.
