MINUTES OF THE EUREKA CITY COUNCIL MEETING
January 3, 2012

The Eureka City Council convened in regular session at the City Building on January 3, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Scott Punke called the meeting to order and led The Pledge of Allegiance and then directed the City Clerk to call the roll. Present were Aldermen Meares, Prather, McSweeney, Royer, and Sancken.  Alderman Hinnen, Myers, Hinthorne were absent. Also in attendance were Lynn Hinnen, Treasurer; Marilyn Walter, City Clerk; Melissa Brown, City Administrator; Rusty Klaus, Superintendent of Streets and Maintenance; and Chief Eric Luckey.

Moved by Meares, second by Sancken, to approve the minutes of the December 19, 2011, regular meeting of the City Council. Passed on roll call vote  with Meares, Sancken, Prather, McSweeney, and Royer all voting Aye.

Moved by Meares, second by McSweeney, to approve the minutes of the committee meetings held within the prior 30 days with the December 1, 2011 Maintenance Committee minutes being amended to delete the third paragraph which is a duplicate. Passed on roll call vote with Meares, McSweeney, Prather, Royer, and Sancken all voting Aye.

The Mayor asked for public comments on any action to be taken on Agenda items. There were none.

Moved by Prather, second by Meares, to approve and pay the bills as the City’s obligation in the amount of $18,011.71.  Passed on roll call vote with Prather, Meares, McSweeney, Royer, and Sancken all voting Aye.

Moved by Sancken, second by Meares, to approve the annexation petitions, annexations agreements, and Ordinances 11-24, 11-25, 11-26, 11-27, 11-28. 11-29, and 11-30 for annexation of the following respectfully:
            1014 S. Timber Lane, owned by Russell L. Bradle and Angela M. Bradle
            111 Orchard Street, owned by Nicholas Bondi
            1011 Timber Lane, owned by Sheila Watson
            1008 Timber Lane, owned by Michael L. Reese and Donna J. Reese
            1004 Timber Lane, owned by Roger Wilson
            1010 Timber Lane, owned by Ryan Eigsti and Kelli Eigsti
            1006 Timber Lane, owned by Carl D. Hirsch and Beverly Jo Hirsch

This is recommended by the Eureka Enterprise Committee. Passed on roll call vote with Sancken, Meares, Prather, McSweeney, and Royer all voting Aye.

There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting adjourned at 7:36 p.m.
