MINUTES OF THE EUREKA CITY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
October 18, 2007

 

The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Mick Simenc, present was Ken Knepp, Stan Wertz and Alan Hinnen.  Jim Cuffe was absent.  Also present were Scott Punke, Mayor, and Tim Meiss.

 

The minutes of the September 20, 2007 meeting were moved for approval by Knepp, second Hinnen.  All voted yes.

 

Tim Meiss of 606 W. Maple Drive discussed a possible variance to allow for a four and one-half foot side yard instead of the current six feet required.  The commission members felt they would consider this variance. The commissioners wanted the neighbors notified and their support for or against would figure into their decision.

 

The commission reviewed the Satellite Dish Antennas, Amateur Radio/Citizens Radio Antenna and Home Occupations of the proposed Zoning Code.

 

17.113 Antenna Size: add to (C.) after estates “and (1) satellite television antenna for local channels.

 

17.114 Amateur Radio/Citizens Radio Antenna.  Remove all Antenna(e).  (C.)  after vertical “height above grade”

 

17.118 Construction requirements and restrictions. – Change all reference to the date 1990 change to read “latest edition of the International Building Code”.

 

17.132 Home Occupations (1) Family Day Care.  After “instruction,” delete “whether or not for compensation of”.

 

17.136 Issuance of permits (j) add after Furniture refinishing ”Construction”. (n) after Beauty parlors add “Barber shops.

 

17.137 Penalty (6) after “fined” delete “no less than” after ($150) delete “not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750).

 

It was moved to adjourn the meeting by Hinnen, second Wertz at 8: 15 p.m.
