MINUTES OF THE EUREKA CITY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
August 20, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Mick Simenc. Present were Cuffe, Knepp, Wertz and Hinnen. Also present were Aaron and Shannon Troyer and two sons.

The minutes from the July 16, 2009 meeting were reviewed and motion by Wertz, second by Knepp to approve the minutes as written. All voted yes.

The Public Hearing on the variance request from Aaron Troyer at 700 S. Darst was held. Aaron contacted all of his neighbors on Darst Street and East James Street either in person or by mail and received no negative feedback.

Consideration of the variance request by Aaron Troyer. Motion by Knepp to approve the request for a variance as submitted with the stipulation that in the future the City Administrator clearly determines whether the construction is replacement or addition to the existing structure. Second by Wertz. Knepp – yes, Wertz – yes, Cuffe – no, Simenc – yes, Hinnen – yes. Motion passed.

Comments/Questions from the public. Jim Cuffe asked about the requirements for street lights in new subdivision. Several areas do not comply – College, 4-H Road and Lake. Letters should be sent to the developer for immediate compliance.

Feedback for zoning ordinance materials submitted by Ken Knepp and Al Hinnen.
