The June meeting was held at Maple Lawn Homes with 14 in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. The minutes for the last meeting were accepted for filing. Eldon LiaBraaten reported a Treasury balance of $7399.31.
II Committee Reports:
Community Calendar - Donna Sweeney announced that Christy Casey is no longer a member of the EBA. A volunteer is needed to chair this committee in order to continue with the calendar.
4th of July - Bryant Ruder reported there are 45-50 entries for the parade. Donna Sweeney is checking into purchasing small flags to be handed out on the EBA float.
Regan Fest - Donna Sweeney has sent out contracts for booth spaces and some of the entertainment has been booked. The date for the event is August 27th.
Taste of Eureka - Vada Schertz and Lisa Reinman will chair the event. It will be held August 26th from 5:00 - 8:00. Information will be sent out to businesses and all EBA members are encouraged to participate.
Christmas Memories - Vada Schertz discussed moving the event to Curves at Lakeview Shopping Center. There will be more space and more parking. Santa and Mrs. Claus have been booked. The event will take place on Saturday, December lOth, from 10:00 - 2:00.
City: Lynette Ruder reported that our Mayor, Scott Punke, has been out meeting Eureka residents. The liquor license committee met, and they are halfway through the recommendations for liquor licenses. Two buildings will be demolished to provide more parking downtown. The city will be updating their web site. It was noted that the Public Safety Committee met. They are looking into having a skateboarding area set up at Eureka Lake in the future. Approximately $40,000.00 is needed for the project.
Old Business: Lynette Ruder said we still need people to purchase the brick pavers. Dawn Maloney thanked the EBA for their participation at the Lilac Festival.
New Business: Tim Boisseau announced that there will be an' open house on July 9th for a new set of cottages at Maple Lawn. Maple Lawn will be hosting a Business After Hours on August 4th from 5:00 -7:00 p.m.
