The July meeting was held at Maple Lawn Homes with 11 in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. The minutes for the last meeting were accepted for filing. There was a treasury balance of $12,429.49.
Committee Reports:
Nominating Committee - The committee will consist of Duane Schroeder and Lisa Reinmann. Positions to be filled include President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The positions will be voted on during the December meeting and the new officers will begin their duties in January 2006.
City: Jim Mears announced that several new businesses have opened or will be opening in Eureka. They are: Rocco's Italian Restaurant, Over the Moon, De Ja Brew, and TexMex. There has not been a large request for liquor licenses, only two so far. The deadline for applications for the City Administrator position is October 31, 2005. There will be a meeting with Jeff MCSweeney to get the city's new website up and running. Also, there will be a meeting next week for the Westside Business Park. There has been no update concerning the Skateboard Park.
New Business: Donna Sweeney asked for a business to host a Business After Hours in November. No one was able to host it. Eldon LiaBraaten presented information on how the EBA could help its members through the use of a postcard-advertising program. The idea was discussed and it was suggested that we get more information and then have a 3 to 6 month trial period. Eldon will present the program again in January. Chuck Staley inquired about the Experience Eureka signs. We have had no updates from Andy Lankton.
