The July meeting was held at Maple Lawn Homes with 14 in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. The minutes for the last meeting were accepted for filing. There was a treasury balance of $12,425.30.
Committee Reports:
Nominating Committee- Duane Schroeder announced the following candidates for offices for 2006: Anna Liable, President; Lisa Reinmann, Vice President; Eldon LiaBraaten, Treasurer. There currently is no candidate for Secretary. Voting will take
place at the December meeting. .
Christmas Memories with Santa - The committee has met and has ordered the treats to be put into the goody bags. Volunteers are still needed to help with the face painting and games. Santa and Mrs. Santa will be there. The day will include pictures with Santa, face painting, games and live deer for the little ones to enjoy.
EBA Member Promotions- Eldon LiaBraaten has talked with the Woodford County Journal, and Heide has put together a layout for the sample postcard to be used by businesses. Costs will vary with distribution, but each business can decide how it should be mailed with the paper (to all Woodford County, or just to Eureka). Active members will have first choice at which months they would like to advertise.
City: Jim Mears announced that the city's website is up and running. The address is the same as the old one (EurekaIL.net). They are working on getting the journalism class at the high school to help with the site. They would like to add links to all organizations. The skateboard park has raised $7,000.00. There are no more applications being accepted for the City Administrator position. They have 8 - 9 resumes in hand. No liquor licenses have been issued yet, only 2 applicants.
New Business: Donna Sweeney asked for a business to host a Business After Hours in December. No one was interested. Chad Martin announced that Goodfield State Bank will be opening a branch at Lakeview Shopping Center (where Subway was previously located). Eldon LiaBraaten announced that he has room for new business in his building (formerly the Gander Chiropractic building).
