Committee Reports:
Christmas Memories with Santa - Vada Schertz reported that this year's Christmas Memories with Santa was very successful. We had over 500 children, parents and grandparents attend the event. The feedback in the community was very positive, everyone liked the photos with Santa, and they liked all of the extra activities (such as face painting, games, etc.). The live deer were a big hit with the kids as well. She thanked everyone on her committee for the great job that they did.
City: There was not a representative from the city at this meeting.
Old Business: The 2006 slate of officers include: Anna Liable - President, Lisa Reinman - Vice President, Mark Hinrichsen - Secretary, Eldon LiaBraaten - Treasurer.
New Business: Marge Ulrich asked how much the EBA would be spending on the promotional cards. The January meeting will be devoted to gathering member input and discussing the use of these cards. Donna Sweeney talked about members at large. The president appoints members at large, and they attend the board meetings. Heide from the Woodford County Journal reported that there will be a Eureka Community Guide containing information on churches and events. Duane Schroeder made a motion to give the 2006 board permission to do a one-page ad in the booklet. Since the decision needed to be made at this time, Donna Sweeney made a motion to accept the one page ad now, John Green second. It will cost $500 to place the ad on the inside back page of the booklet. Chuck Staley commented that we need to try to take steps to link the EBA to the city. It was mentioned that the EBA is on the city's website, and that it is being updated.
Business Updates: John Green announced the opening of the Tex Mex Restaurant. He also said there is a new business in the Derer Building; Dean and Rob Pierce opened Legacy Built Homes. Eldon announced that he will now offer photo processing on-line. Photos can still be brought in to be processed. Bryant Ruder reported that Installing Honda of America (based in Ohio) has purchased more of So-Brite Water's reclaimed equipment.
