The August Meeting was held at Maple Lawn Homes with 16 in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. The minutes of the last meeting were accepted for filing. Treasury balance is $9,189.79
Committee Reports:
Donna Sweeney Mentioned we have 72 Vendors for 88 Spots.
The EHS Cheerleaders will staff Children Fun Center- she needed help for the fun center.
Heidi reported on Taste of Eureka – 19 businesses are signed up & tickets are for sale.
City:
Jim Meares from the City said they are taking bids for the left turn lane and trees would be put in after the Reagan Fest.
Duane brought up cost of banners and suggested we evaluate suppliers.
Old Business:
Duane also brought up Welcome to the City of Eureka sign and our donation to it.
Business Spotlight:
Nancy Scott talked about the library as being a business with over 3,000 active card holders. Had over 116,000 plus transactions, totally funded by personal property taxes unless they can get grants. They are in the 4th location since 1932 – they need more computers as that facet has grown tremendously. She brought up the need for a new facility. She talked also about the many challenges that they face at the library today.
