The March meeting was held at Maple Lawn with 15 in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. The minutes of the last meeting were accepted for filing as presented.
Treasurer’s Report:
There was no report as Eldon LiaBraaten was unable to attend.
Committee Reports:
Both the EBA Member Postcard Promotion and Brighten Our Business will be discussed in April.
Economic Development Council:

City:
Jim Meares said the city was working on the water line replacement project. An exploratory park district committee has been formed. The city aims to finish the tree planting in the summer. They are also planning to replace street lights. The contamination testing at Rivinius site is finished. The city is working with radio stations WMBD and WYZZ to promote the Lilac Fest.
Old Business:
Katherine Arnold said the Lilac Fest has six signs that need to be up on poles for a few weeks in April. She passed around a permission sheet so business signs could be temporarily removed and replaced with the Lilac Fest signs. The Lilac Fest has 70 artists this year, and there will be an Artists’ Reception at Furrow Winery on Friday, April 20. Tickets are available for the reception at the Eureka Public Library. Business Spotlight:
David Crenshaw of Healthy Arts Physical Therapy spoke about the three dimensions of the business: physical therapy, yoga instructions, and massage therapy. Crenshaw is a licensed physical therapist and a certified yoga and pilates teacher. Donna VanBruwaene is the new physical therapy assistant. She specializes in myofascial release, a deep muscle-tissue stretching technique. Peg Toliver teaches beginning and restorative yoga classes, and Katherine Arnold is the licensed massage therapist. Their goal at Healthy Arts is to inspire wellness. Crenshaw led the group in nerve stretching exercises. The phone number is 467-3220.

Brief Business Update:
Dana Wiegand stated Goodfield State Bank would host a ribbon cutting on March 22 at 11:30 AM.
Donna Sweeney said the new Cornerstone Family Restaurant’s construction is going well and should be open around June.
Nancy Scott discussed the Educational Workshops available through the Eureka Public Library, including “Bread Baking with Father Dominic Garramone” on Sat, June 2. For more information, call 467-2922.
Guest Speaker:
Dr. Junius Rodriguez from Eureka College spoke about the Organizational Leadership students’ upcoming academic exercise that will involve looking at how Eureka might become a Main Street Community. The students will present their ideas at a luncheon on June 23. Dr. Rodriguez encouraged EBA members to attend. The students might also be sending out surveys to area businesses.
