Eureka Business Association
Minutes - May 21, 2009

The May meeting was at the Eureka College Cerf Center with 13 people in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. Treasurer Eldon LiaBraaten that the balance was $8383.30.

Committee Reports:

Brighten Our Business: Eldon LiaBraaten said that the planting and delivery will not be happening this year and encouraged everyone to take care of their own flowers.

4th of July Parade: Bryant Ruder said the parade will be Saturday, July 4.

City:
There was no city report.

Sesquicentennial Update:
Amber Harmon shared information about the Merchant’s Tent. A mailing will be going out soon. There are 32 spots available on a first come, first serve basis. If EBA members don’t fill the tent, the spots will be offered to the public in the middle of June. Contact Amber at 467-9059 for more information. EBA activities “downtown” were listed on the city website for the Thursday of the festival, but it was decided that information should be removed, as many EBA members will be at the Merchant’s Tent and no downtown activities have been planned.

Brief Business Updates:
Dr. Carrie Musselman of Preferred Care Chiropractic said that she will be hosting a Teacher’s Appreciation night tonight. Joan Klopfenstein shared that Mangold Ford will be hosting a “drive for your school” event at Eureka High School on May 30. For every family that test drives a car, Ford will donate $20 to the school. The school can get up to $6000, so everyone is encouraged to come test drive a car! Duane Schroeder shared that Rosie’s Tex-Mex and Italian Restaurant had closed and noted it would be missed in our community. Eldon LiaBraaten said that Hodel’s Chanticleer has joined the EBA.
