E.Y.R.A. SOCCER
SIGN-UPS: There are (2) seasons for EYRA Soccer; spring and fall. The spring registration is in February and is held at the Eureka Middle School. The fall registration is in August and is held at the Eureka Middle School.
MEETING PLACE: All games and practices are held at the Lower Eureka Lake Park. Travel teams play their games in Washington, IL.
MEETING TIMES: Games are played during the evenings, beginning at 5:45 PM or on Saturday mornings for both the spring and the fall seasons. Travel teams play their games on Saturday afternoons for both the spring and fall season.

E.Y.R.A. Soccer is a recreational co-ed league for boys and girls ages 4 – 14 years old. Travel teams are co-ed and play in the Washington Park District Travel League. Travel teams consist of (3) three teams; U-10, U-12 and U-14. Tryouts maybe needed for the Travel team and are held after sign-ups are complete. The in-house soccer program has (4) four leagues; Pee-Wee: pre-school age, K1: kindergarten and 1st grade, 2-3: 2nd and 3rd grade, 4-5-6: 4th, 5th and 6th grade. All in-house team plays will play and equal amount during games. Travel teams play in a competitive league and playing time is based on ability. The spring season is played during April and May and the fall season is played during September and October for both the in-house and Travel teams.

MEETING TIMES: Try-outs for travel teams are held in late March or early April, practices begin immediately after try-outs and the season runs from Mid March through the End of July. In-House draft day is in Mid April and practices begin in early May and the season runs from the first Saturday of June through Mid July. Picture Day for all teams is the first Saturday of June, followed by a league March to the Middle School and opening day games.

T-Ball is a coed league for ages 5 & 6, a soft ball is placed on a tee for the players to hit and no scores are kept. Instructional is a coed league for ages 7 & 8, coaches pitch using softball and no scores are kept. Mustang League is an in-house league for 9 – 10 year old boys and Bronco League is an in-house league for 11 – 13 year old boys. Each in-house team plays approximately 10 games. All in-house teams play modified IESA rules. All in-house players regardless of skills play approximately ½ of the game. There are (4) four Travel Baseball Teams which play games against other area Travel Teams and play in a couple of tournaments. Each team plays between 18 –25 games per year. The Travel teams consist of the following; Mustang Travel (9 & 10), Bronco Travel (11 & 12), 2 – Pony Travel Teams (13 & 14) and High School Travel (15 –17). All Travel Teams play either modified IESA or IHSA rules. Travel teams are more competitive and not all players are guaranteed equal playing team, better every player will at least play in all of the games.

Each in-house team plays approximately 10 - 12 games. All in-house teams play modified ASA rules. All in-house players regardless of skills play approximately ½ of the game.

Summer team-dual meet season with area teams
The goal is personal improvement of each swimmer. Coaches give stroke instruction, encourage hard work in practice and give constructive criticism about race results. Swimming is a fun way to get lots of aerobic exercise, build strong bodies and develop future fitness habits.

WOODFORD COUNTY JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE
SIGN UP: Usually the last Saturday in June and the following Monday evening
MEETING PLACE: Practices are at Eureka Middle School
MEETING TIMES: Practices begin the first week of August on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:30 PM. Games start the first Saturday of September and are played on Saturdays for the Pee Wee and Junior Varsity levels and Sunday afternoons for Varsity and Senior Varsity levels.

JFL is a tackle football league where coaches are certified in compliance with national standards for youth sports and patched officials are used in the games. They play an eight game schedule which runs through the last weekend of October. A few games are played in Eureka at the Eureka High School Football Field and the rest of the games are played in the Central Illinois area at opposing teams home sites. Woodford County Football League is a member of the Junior Football League of Central Illinois. It is the goal of this league to teach fundamentals of football as well as good sportsmanship. This is a volunteer program and would not be able to continue without the involvement of parents and other adult participation.

EUREKA KIDS WRESTLING CLUB

Eureka Kids Wrestling club was chartered in 1992. Our goal as a club is to teach wrestling fundamentals, sportsmanship and character. Most of the kids that participate in our club go on to do very well in our High School program. Tournaments are held on weekends from December through the end of February. We then compete in Regional, Sectional and State IKWF Tournaments in March.

Important social skills such as sharing, listening, and relating to others are developed in a positive, loving atmosphere.

4-H is the largest out-of-school organization for young people ages 8-18. Members may choose from over 200 different projects such as aerospace, animal science, interior design, foods, pets, electricity, clothing, photography and more! Projects and 4-H Club experiences help youth to learn life skills such as decision-making, time management, leadership and self-confidence. Most of all, 4-H members have fun, make new friends and help others. There is a 4-H Club in almost every community in the county. Adult volunteer leaders guide the 4-H members.
The 4-H Cloverbud program helps build confident kids. Specially designed for youngsters ages 5 ? 7, the 4-H Cloverbud program gets kids excited about learning. The 4-H Cloverbud program uses hands-on learning activities to help kids explore art, plants, and animals, science and the environment. Youngsters also engage in group activities that promote personal development, healthy lifestyles and a sense of citizenship. A trained Cloverbud volunteer leads meetings with help from parents.

The American Red Cross Baby-sitting Class is designed for individuals I I years of age and older. The purpose of the course is to introduce participants to the role, responsibility and relationship of the baby-sitter to the parents and child. The course teaches how to handle emergencies, illness, accident prevention, child growth and development, and how to feed, play with and care for youngsters. The course is 8 hours in length.

Noah?s Ark Children's Center provides full daycare for children ages 2-8. (Must be potty trained.) They also provide preschool for children who are 3 and 4 before September 1. Three year old preschool meets Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 - 11:30 A.M and four year old preschool meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 - 11:30 A.M. There is also a before and after school care for children ages 5 - 8. Developmentally appropriate activities are planned for all age groups. The children participate in planned and spontaneous activities with the residents of Maple Lawn. Hot lunch and two snacks are served daily.

The Eureka Public Library offers story hour sessions twice yearly for 3-5 year olds. This is an opportunity for parents to share ideas and children to be introduced to the wonderful world of books and libraries. Each weekly session includes stories, finger plays, pup- pets and crafts.
A toddler lap-sit program is offered monthly for toddlers 18 months - 3 years old. This is an opportunity for parents and their children to interact with books, music and games.
The Summer Reading Program encourages children to maintain and/or improve their reading skills and interest in books during the summer months. The week programs includes a Story Hour for pre-schoolers, a Munch-A-Lunch-Bunch for school age children, a Make-It-Take-It craft for all ages and programs of varied interests.
Computers and CD-ROM programs are available for public use at the Eureka Public Library. Children interested in using the computers must take a 30 minute computer class in order to have computer privileges. Classes are offered the first Monday of each month. Registration and a current library card are necessary.
