Eureka Community Electronics &
Appliance Recycling Event Scheduled for
Saturday, August 29, 2026
Eureka, Illinois – The City of Eureka, in partnership with Tech Remove, LLC, will host a
Community Electronics & Appliance Recycling Event on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Eureka Lake Park, Second Entrance, 203 Lake Road, Eureka,
Illinois 61530.

Residents are invited to recycle most electronics containing a cord or battery, including
computer towers, laptops, hard drives, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, keyboards,
mice, monitors, speakers, stereos, cell phones, networking equipment, servers, cameras, VCRs,
DVD players, CD players, radios, power tools, restaurant equipment, and many other electronic
devices.
New for this event, Tech Remove will also accept household appliances, including:
● Refrigerators
● Freezers
● Washers
● Dryers
● Ranges / Ovens
● Air Conditioners
If it has a cord or battery, bring it!
The event is open to the public, and participants do not need to be Eureka residents to
participate.
Most items are accepted free of charge. Recycling fees apply only to the following materials:
● LED, LCD, and Plasma Televisions — $20 each
● CRT Televisions — $30 each
● Projection / Big Screen Televisions — $30 each
● CRT Computer Monitors — $5 each
● Flat-screen computer monitors — FREE
Cash and major credit cards are accepted for payment.
Electronic devices contain valuable materials that can be responsibly recovered and reused
through environmentally sound recycling processes. Data-bearing devices will be processed
through Tech Remove's secure recycling procedures to help protect personal information while
ensuring responsible environmental stewardship.

Participants are encouraged to remain in their vehicles while trained Tech Remove staff unload
recyclable materials.
The following items cannot be accepted:
● Alkaline batteries
● Smoke detectors
● VHS and cassette tapes
● Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes
● CDs and DVDs
● PCB ballasts
● Software
● Ink and toner cartridges
● Thermometers
● Hazardous materials
